Golf Packages Useful Info| Scotland Golf Vacations & Tours
In Scotland & Ireland many hotels offer different styles of rooms. You can upgrade to larger rooms, single rooms or rooms with ocean and course views.
For groups of 4 + we suggest you consider a total care package - personal private chauffeur
- Drop and collect you from each destination
- Assist with all check in and outs.
- Make all reservations for the group on tour (caddies, restaurants etc).
If you decide to hire you will often need 2 vehicles to accommodate for all your travelling bags. Then you have the added expense of Fueling 2 Vehicles / Please Note: Petrol is Double the price in UK than overseas.
A hire car is suitable for smaller groups of 2 persons - we will assist with bookings but reservations are made direct.
Lost luggage is rare but can happen so please remember to bring a small carry on suitcase with essentials, inc any medical prescriptions. Lost luggage should be reported to the airline at the airport where you will be issued a tracking code. Please use this to track your luggage and when it will be delivered.
Many of the golf courses you will be playing are private members golf clubs and therefore have varying restrictions on visitor play. Therfore it is never to late to start booking to get the best of availability. Scotland for Golf are one of the few tour operators that are allocated starting times for the Old Course St Andrews. They are sold on a first come first served basis.
We recommend a collared tee shirt and smart trousers. Collarless shirt and trainers are frowned upon. Tailored shorts are accepted but on occasion ‘long' socks maybe required.
Please bring current H/C Certificates with you. (Old Course, Men 24)( Muirfield, Men 18)
‘Tipping' in Scotland is dependant on the service you receive but not obligatory-for good service 10% is more than acceptable. Check restaurant bills as some add a gratuity directly to your account. Caddies have a set fee at each resort if they are good a £10-£20 tip on top would be in keeping. St Andrews is £40 and this is the most expensive resort.
CADDY /BUGGY HIRE:
Very few courses in Scotland have buggies. A medical certificate provided well in advance can request a concession at some venues, but there is no guarantee. The Old Course at St Andrews does not allow buggies at any time and pull carts can only be used after 12 midday. Caddies must be booked at least 48 hours in advance-please see your driver.
Temperatures can vary from 12 - 20 degrees centigrade.
