Management Team

George Finlayson - Founding Director & Advanced PGA Professional

After attending George Watson's College in Edinburgh, George turned his attention to golf. Training was initially at the Royal Burgess in Edinburgh and was concluded at Dalmahoy Golf Club.

The main focus is delivering golf schools and playing with Scotland for Golf clients at the "Home of Golf". George is very much aware of the constant changes in the game. He is a PGA Coach Education Tutor, a Level 1 TPI Certified Instructor and a Level 3 Assessor in Sport.

Geraldine Chandler - Founding Director & Financial Analyst

Educated in Edinburgh, Scotland. After graduating from University she set on a career of self-employment within the Sports Industry. Using skills in Finance, IT, Organisation and Design set up and managed a Fife based Golf & Sports complex and then expanded the retail arm to the high street developing a chain of specialist golf & sports retail units.

Golf with Tourism offered a new challenge and in 1999, Geraldine co-founded Scotland for Golf. Partnering with a PGA Professional in St Andrews, she developed a team of Golf Professionals and thereby offered the market something unique. The chance to entertain, holiday, learn to play or play with experienced Professionals at "The Home of Golf", St Andrews, Scotland.

The Golf Product success has grown annually with its best advert being its repeat client base. It has since been copied but never bettered.

Scott Finlayson – Managing Director & PGA Professional

After attending Stewarts Melville College in Edinburgh, graduating from Edinburgh with BA Business & Economics in 2003, and a gap year around the world Scott turned his attention to turning Professional. He graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2008 with an FdA in Golf Studies.

Scott has been involved in the golf industry for more than 20 years. Now at the helm of Scotland for Golf his vision and commitment make Scotland for Golf one of the largest and most reputable golf tour specialists in Scotland and Ireland, now expanding to the UK & Europe.

Craig Burns – General Manager

Craig joined Scotland for Golf in April 2014 with a BSc (Hons) in Web Design and Development.

He has over 10 years’ experience in the golf travel industry - His knowledge and ability in understanding the needs of our clients, make him a key asset to the company. Using his IT background, he also improves our digital systems to ensure we are at the forefront of the golf industry.

Staff Team

Suzanne Watson – Group Sales & Events

Suzanne joined Scotland for Golf in February 2016 from the St Andrews Hotel Du Vin where she headed up Groups Sales and Events. She has over 10 years’ experience in the golf industry.

At Scotland for Golf she is responsible for all group sales and events. Her experience and attention to detail ensures your trip will live up to expectation!

Jennifer Wilson – Tour Operations

Jennifer joined Scotland for Golf in June 2024 bringing a wealth of industry experience and passion to our team.

She has over 20 years’ experience in the golf industry at The Rusacks Hotel - Her friendliness, attention to detail and caring attitude is a great attribute to the team and welcomed by many of our clients.

Simon Jelks – Graphic Design & IT Support

Simon joined Scotland for Golf in November 2021 with a degree in Graphic and Web Design and postgraduate in IT.

He has over 35 years’ experience in Graphic Design – He heads up all branding and design making him crucial to the image of the company

Scruffy – Head of Barketing

Scruffy joined Scotland for Golf in July 2019. She provides the fun and laughter in a busy office - she is usually found chasing golf balls in the indoor golf centre, an extension to our offices.

Servicing Team

David Poulton - PGA Professional

David joined Scotland for Golf in April 2022 after a career dedicated to coaching all over the world. He is a member of both the British and Spanish Professional Golfers Associations.

He heads up the team at Centre of Golf Excellence St Andrews - Speaking several languages, a master clubmaker and fitter, accredited to both American Sports & Fitness and Golf Mechanics makes him well qualified and we guarantee you are learning from the very best!

Laird Shepherd - Tour Professional

Laird joined Scotland for Golf in July 2024 to assist our servicing team in delivering our Golf Tours and Experiences. As the 2021 British Ameatur Champion, Laird has played in The Open, The US Open & Masters.

Freddie Lawrence - Tour Professional

Freddie joined Scotland for Golf in September 2024 to assist our servicing team in delivering our Golf Tours and Golf Experiences. Freddie is a Golf Professional currently playing on the Tartan Tour.

Overseas Team

Shaun Clark - PGA Professional

Shaun's works as a consultant for Scotland for Golf in the Florida area and throughout the USA.

He began his career at the Home of Golf, St Andrews turning Professional in 2009, having done his training at Elie Golf House Club. He has a passion for golf and as such, coordinates trips for potential, or referral US based clients.

Gone but Never Forgotten

William McColl

1956-2023

Scotland for Golf are deeply saddened by the sudden and unexpected passing of our dear friend and colleague, Bill McColl, on the 10th of July 2023. We know many of our regular clients will remember Bill McColl as a great pro and treasured member of our team. As a team, we will all miss him terribly.

Our St Andrews Classic will pay tribute to Bill McColl every year and we hope you join us in continuing his memory at this event.
