A stunning links playable all year round, Gullane 1 is an Open qualifying venue and has hosted many other championships. Greens, fairways and bunkers are all superb and the course presents one of the best challenges in Scotland. It offers three championship quality links tracks, which over the years have held numerous Open Championship Qualifiers. Its 3rd hole was recently voted one of the top 500 holes in the world by Golf Magazine (USA).
History:
All eighteen holes of Gullane No.1 Course were established in 1884 and the well maintained greens, links grasses, numerous bunkers and sea breezes makes a unique challenge for the serious golfer. It hosted a large number of competitions, among which: the Open Championship Final Qualifying for six times, the Ladies British Open Amateur Championship for five times, and Amateur Internationals.
