Worth the extra few miles travel to play it. Apart
from the two blind short holes (13 and 14) it's one of the best courses
I have played. A course I would recommend to my golfing buddies.
Awesome! It felt like we were playing a Championship
because the stands where still up from the Seniors Open. The course
itself was very windy which made it a real challenge. I thought the
greens seemed a bit slow. Maybe they where left too long prior to
the championship, though it didn't really take away just what a great
course this is. Definately one of the best I've played.
Played the Kings course in the morning. It started
off raining but cleared up later on. Switched to the Centenary course
in the afternoon and got ourselves some buggies. At my age your legs
need a rest. We loved both courses. I've been playing golf for over
forty years and played here many times. It never gets dull and the
location is splendid, as is the hospitality. I'm not sure what my
favourite Scottish course is but as long as I can play then I'll always
come back to Gleneagles whenever I'm here.
I have to say i enjoyed the course more than I
did the Old. Don't get me wrong, the Old was a highlight of my golf
trip, but when it came to playability the New won hands down. The
greens were fantastic and very well kept for such a busy course.
