Coaching:
As Director of Golf at the St Andrews Golf Academy, PGA Coach Education Tutor and TPI Certified Golf Fitness instructor I strive to deliver instruction tailored to the needs of the individual player. Having worked with some very talented players and noticed how difficult it is to convert their expectation into achievement, therefore I have formed The St Andrews Golf Institute with PGA colleague Graeme McDowall. The programme brings together expertise from top individuals coaches in their respective specialist fields. The programme will not set about to teach another golf swing method but will focus on performance.
Geraldine Chandler, Senior Manager Corporate Sales
Geraldine vision was very much at the conception of Scotland for Golf. Her ability to showcase products for the overseas market has been crucial in the development of this young company to its present size and force. The corporate market is her key area of operation where she is able to put together a seamless transition between golf and management meetings. Geraldine occasionally puts on her spikes and is no slouch in a team format contributing regularly with stunning shots including net birdies and pars. Geraldine's competitive spirit in all aspects of business must come from her "sprinting days" where she was selected to represent Scotland in the Commonwealth Games.

Graeme McDowall, PGA Professional (Consultant for Scotland for Golf)
Graeme McDowallCurrently a Lecturer in Performance Golf at Elmwood College and a 4th year PhD student at the University of Birmingham. Graeme's is currently working on the development of an Elite Golf Research Institute at Elmwood that will promote a research based approach to the development of future world class players
Graeme's main area of research has centred on talent identification and development; he has collected data from many current European tour players and Elite level amateurs in order to understand more about the development of expertise in Golf.
This research has heavily influenced his development of the High Performance Golf Programme (HPGP) at Elmwood College, students of which include a current British champion, former national champions and players with elite level international representation honours.
The HPGP is research based and is a training rather than instructional model of talent development. The model is based on the proposition that improvement corresponds to the changes and amount of adaptation experienced as a result of straining the physiological and psychological mechanisms that control performance.
